Funeral services for Bertha F. (Hamm) Gossett, 93 year-old former Thomas, Oklahoma resident, will be held Friday, April 5, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. in the Church of Christ, in Weatherford, Oklahoma, with Bruce Lewis officiating. Burial will be held Friday at 2:00 P.M. in Davidson Cemetery in Davidson, Oklahoma, under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford.
Bertha was born December 15, 1919, the youngest of nine children, to John and Gertrude (Moreland) Hamm in Davidson, Oklahoma and passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Corn Heritage Village in Corn, Oklahoma. Bertha was raised and attended school in Davidson, Oklahoma. She lived all her life in Davidson, Oklahoma except for four years in Thomas, Oklahoma and three years in Corn, Oklahoma. Bertha married Charlie Wallace Boots Gossett on December 24, 1936. They were married for 55 years until Boots death in 1991. Unto this union three girls and seven boys were born. She was baptized at a young age and became a member of the Weatherford Church of Christ when she moved from Davidson to Thomas. Bertha loved family, especially little children. She enjoyed fishing, being outside, playing dominoes, traveling, and playing the piano.
Bertha is survived by her children, Delynn Peters and husband, W.A. of Davidson, Oklahoma, Larry Gossett and wife, Janet of Minco, Oklahoma, Linda Floyd and husband, Danny of Thomas, Oklahoma, Charlie Gossett and wife, Donna of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Rickey Gossett and wife, Deborrah of Choctaw, Oklahoma, Danny Gossett and wife, Brenda of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Darryl Gossett and wife, Vickie of Thomas, Oklahoma, Mark Gossett of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, and Debbie Robertson and husband, Kevin of Frederick, Oklahoma; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; all of her siblings; one son, Michael; one grandson, Chad; and one great-great-granddaughter, Everly.
