Graveside services for Bernice Lorene Yates, 97 year-old Allen, Texas, formerly from Weatherford, Oklahoma, resident, will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Greenwood Cemetery at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor James Carver officiating, under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Bernice was born March 24, 1917 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, the second of six children, to Henry Franklin and Inez (Lobaugh) Woffard and passed from this life into the hands of the Lord on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Presbyterian Hospital in Allen, Texas. Bernice was raised and attended school in Stafford and graduated from Stafford High School in 1935. She lived a long and productive life in Oklahoma, Nevada, California, and Texas. She was active in the First Baptist Church in Allen, Texas. Bernice enjoyed cooking, sewing, and caring for her family. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Bernice is survived by a daughter, Emma Lou Ray and husband, Jim of Allen, Texas; one son, Everett Lloyd Yates of Placerville, California; two younger brothers, Ralph Wofford and wife, Charlene of Cassville, Missouri and Lloyd Wofford and wife, Letha of Manteca, California; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 38 years, Everett Yates who passed away in 1976 and a daughter, Gayle Norton who passed away in 2005
