The family of Benjamin Levi Garvin, 82 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will receive friends Saturday evening, March 5, 2016, 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Lockstone Funeral Home.

Benny was born August 28, 1933, in Erie, Kansas, to Ralph Benjamin and Alice Marie (Lowe) Garvin and passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at Weatherford Regional Hospital. Benny was raised and attended school in Erie, Ferdonia, and Chanute, Kansas and graduated from Chanute High School in 1951. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict serving stateside. Benny attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University for 2 years and on May 30, 1958, he married Marilyn Joyce Nikkel in Weatherford, Oklahoma. He was parts manager at Davidson Ford and with 3M for 30 years. Benny enjoyed being involved with his grandchildren, Hank Michael, and Rosie; spending time with his family and friends; and joking around.

Benny is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marilyn Garvin of their home in Weatherford, Oklahoma; son, Gary Garvin of Weatherford, Oklahoma; daughter, Nancy Lynn Howell and husband, Leonard of Spencer, Tennessee; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Floriene Marshall; and brother-in-law, Richard Marshall.
