Barry Len
Cobb
May 12, 2012
A celebration of life for Barry Len Cobb, 55 year-old Corn resident, will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Renaissance 17, 110 West Main Street, Weatherford, OK at 6:00 P.M. with Ken Gardner officiating. A viewing with friends and family will precede the service from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Lockstone Funeral Home.
Barry was born on September 27, 1956 to Robert and Lena (Deutschendorf) Cobb in Clinton, Oklahoma and passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2012. Barry was raised and attended school in Clinton. He married Kathy Borchers and they made their home in Phoenix, Arizona, where he graduated from Universal Technical Institure. He returned to Clinton where he worked as a service manager at Buck Chevrolet and parts manager at Case Equipment, later opening his own automotive business. In 1987, Barry moved to Weatherford, OK. He purchased Southwest Transmission in 1989, which he owned and operated for 23 years. On October 23, 1989, he married Dondi (Magers) Newton in Cordell and they made their home in Weatherford until 1994 when they moved to Corn. Barry loved his Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior as a young man. Throughout his life he loved testifying to and bringing others to Christ and late in his life Barry especially enjoyed spreading Gods word. Barrys passion in life was music. He loved listening to music, writing songs, performing and recording in his home studio, Cloud Chief Studios. His family meant the world to him and he especially loved spending time with his mother, children and grandchildren and family gatherings were his favorite times. Barry loved western Oklahoma, its heritage and Native American history. He was happiest outdoors and he loved to travel. From the mountains of New Mexico and Colorado to the beaches of Mexico or streets of New York City, Barry was the ultimate adventurer. He also had a special interest in young people and from 5-years old to 35-years, Barry cherished all the young people in his life, of which there are too many to mention.
He is survived by his wife, Dondi Cobb of their home in Corn; mother, Lena Snider of Clinton; two sons, Mark and Jennifer Cobb of Butler and Brian and Maria Cobb of Clinton; one daughter, Anna Cobb of the home; step-son, Trey Newton of Weatherford; one sister, Julie Henry of Jones, OK; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and special friends, Kelton Stamper of Weatherford and Avery Rackley of Corn. He was preceded in death by his father; son, Hunter; grandson, Tyler; and brother, Mike.
