Funeral services for Barbara Winfred Wright, 81 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Thursday, April 14, 2016, 10:00 A.M. in The Chapel of Lockstone Funeral Home with Doyle Kinney and Gilbert Forrest officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Barbara was born February 28, 1935, in Washington, D.C. to Forrest D. and Elsie Grace (Higginbotham) Dowell and passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016, at Kindred Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City. Barbara was raised and attended school in Fairfax, Virginia, and graduated from high school in 1953. She attended Dallas Christian College where she met John DeWayne Wright. On January 11, 1957, Barbara married DeWayne in Dallas, Texas. They made their homes in Mena, Arkansas; Fletcher, Oklahoma; Pampa and Borger, Texas; Sayre, Oklahoma and settled in Weatherford in 2005. Barbara worked at Red River Transportation, as dispatcher and van driver in Sayre before transferring to Weatherford. Memorials may be made to the Custer City Christian Church.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 59 years, DeWayne Wright of their home in Weatherford, Oklahoma; three daughters, Anita Grice and husband, Kit of Sherman, Texas, Kimberly Ogle and husband, Christopher of Carl Junction, Missouri, and Bobbi Johnson of Midwest City, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Heighter, Roger, and Eddie; and two sisters, Faith and Joyce.
