Funeral services for Barbara Lucille Hatchell-Arrington, 78, Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church with Wade Burleson officiating. Burial will follow in Clinton Cemetery in Clinton, Oklahoma under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
Barbara was born September 12, 1933 in Butler, Oklahoma and passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Presbyterian Tower in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Barbara was raised and attended school in Butler, Oklahoma and graduated from Butler High School in 1951. She attended Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater for one year. On February 3, 1952, she married Jack Smith in Butler, Oklahoma and made their home in Weatherford. On December 22, 1968, Barbara married Eddie Hatchell in Clinton, Oklahoma and made their home in Weatherford. Barbara was initiated March 12, 1955 to the Butler Chapter #261 Order of the Eastern Star and served as Past Matron. She was elected for affiliation of the Weatherford Chapter #71 Order of the Eastern Star on December 12, 1974. In 1976, she started working for Southwestern Oklahoma State University Library and retired from the SWOSU Foundation in 1995. On January 1, 2000, Barbara married Cecil Arrington in Las Vegas and made their home in Weatherford. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Weatherford, Oklahoma. Barbara enjoyed dealing in antiques, gardening, bowling, and watching sports.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 12 years, Cecil Arrington of Weatherford, Oklahoma; one son, Marc Hatchell of Los Angeles, California; one daughter, Marilyn Jenkins and husband, Larry of Enid, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Luke Lumpkin of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Jennifer DeVaughn of Enid, Oklahoma, and Shelby Rogers of Stillwater, Oklahoma; three step-grandchildren, Brandon and Jonathan Jenkins of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Jesica Uphold of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; three great-grandchildren, Grace and Wade Lumpkin and Scarlett DeVaughn; son-in-law, Mark Lumpkin of Weatherford, Oklahoma; two step-sons, Scot Arrington and wife Sheila of Gracemont, Oklahoma and their children, Dallas, Logan, and Emma; Richard Arrington of Sunray, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents E.H. Jack Hargues and wife Reta; husband Eddie Hatchell; one daughter, Brenda Lumpkin; and one brother, JE. Hargues.
