Art Adams was born January 8, 1927, in San Antonio, Texas to Steve and Bessie (Garcia) Adams and passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019, in Mooreland Heritage Manor in Mooreland, Oklahoma, at the age of 92 years, 1 month, and 13 days.

Art was raised and attended school near Colony. He worked on farms and ranches in the area growing up. On January 8, 1954, he was united in marriage to Claudette Short in Clovis, New Mexico. Their first home was established at Olton, Texas then to Herford, Texas, where their first son, Steve Edward, was born. They moved to Cowden, Oklahoma for a short time before moving to Amity, Arkansas. In the early 1980's the family moved to Hydro, Oklahoma and settled in Mooreland, Oklahoma.

Art was a member of the Sure Foundation Church of God in Woodward, Oklahoma. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who gave him the most enjoyment in life.

Art gave his life to the Lord in the 1960's. He was saved and could get a little rowdy. The day he surrendered his heart to the Lord he was drunk but when he stood up he was sober. He served the Lord faithfully from that day forth. I know he will meet us all one day in Heaven.

Art is survived by one son, Steve Adams of Mooreland, Oklahoma; four brothers, C.D. Adams of Clinton, Oklahoma, J.R. Adams of Joplin, Missouri, Jimmy Adams of Clinton, Oklahoma, and Albert Ochoa of Colony, Oklahoma; two sisters, Mary Ruth Schultz of Michigan and Faye McElroy of Wichita, Kansas; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three brothers, Freddie, Eldon, and Frank; and two sisters, Esther and Margaret.
