RESCHEDULED

Funeral services for Arlen Ray Hamburger, 80 year old resident, of Weatherford, Oklahoma will be Monday, December 28, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Weatherford, Oklahoma at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Lynn Brack officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford. A visitation for family and friends is set for Friday, January 1, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in The Chapel at Lockstone Funeral Home.

Arlen was born on June 20, 1935 in Sentinel, Oklahoma to Everett and Bernice (Roesler) Hamburger and passed away on Monday, December 21, 2015 in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Arlen was raised northwest of Weatherford on the family farm and attended Union Rural School. He also attended Weatherford Public Schools and graduated from Weatherford High School in 1953. After high school he attended Southwestern State College in Weatherford for two years. On June 1, 1955 Arlen married Joyce Alldredge in Elk City, Oklahoma and the couple made their home in Weatherford. In 1958 after working at the lumber yard, a local businessman, Marion Davidson, offered Arlen a job at his Ford Dealership and he accepted. Over the next 42 years Arlen and Marion became good friends and business partners. Arlen became a part owner of the Dealership and retired in 2000. Over the years Arlen served in the Oklahoma National Guard. He was a member and served as treasurer for the Masonic Lodge and the Heartland Museum in Weatherford, and was a member of Rotary International. He has been a member of the First United Methodist Church in Weatherford where he also has served as the church treasurer for many, many years. Arlen enjoyed spending time with his family and farming.

Arlen is survived by his wife, Joyce Hamburger of the home; two sons, Kevin Hamburger of Weatherford and Philip Hamburger and wife, Marci of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a brother, Dale Hamburger and his wife Eileen of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and five grandchildren, Samantha and Conner Hamburger and Taylor, Jack and Thomas Hamburger. He was preceded in death by his brother Herb and a sister, Joy. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church Wesley Foundation in Weatherford.
