Annig
Tourian
June 19, 2016
Memorial services for Annig Tourian, 70 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016, 4:00 P.M. in the Conference Center at Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
Annig was born on March 18, 1946, in Nicosia, Cyprus, to Megerditch and Maria (Constantinou) Megerditchian, and passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 70 years, 3 months and 1 day.
Annig was raised on the island of Cyprus and attended the local English School before coming to the United States in 1964 to enroll at Louisiana State University where she received a Bachelors Degree in English Literature.
After graduating from LSU, Annig returned to Cyprus and started a career teaching English. She soon reconnected with a childhood friend, Moush Tourian, and they were married on August 31, 1969.
The couple came to Weatherford originally in 1970 so that Moush could attend the local University. Upon his graduation in 1974, they returned to Cyprus but returned to Oklahoma permanently in 1976 due to the unstable political situation in Cyprus.
Annig worked alongside her husband at Tourians Studio until their retirement in 2010.
She enjoyed cooking and traveling, but her greatest joy was taking care of her family. She loved her sons and their families. She was specially fond of her grandchildren.
Memorials can be made to one of her two favorite charities: The Weatherford Rotary Foundation, PO Box 93, Weatherford, OK 73096 and the Weatherford Food and Resource Center, c/o Michele Hart, CPA, 119 N. Broadway, Weatherford, OK 73096.
Annig is survived by her husband Moush of their home in Weatherford, Oklahoma; two sons, Rouben Tourian of Weatherford, Oklahoma and Dikran Tourian and his wife Emily of Edmond, Oklahoma; one brother George Frangeskou of Cyprus; one sister, Agho Armoudian of Edmond, Oklahoma; and two grandchildren, Ava Henlee and Leo Michael.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
