Amaryllis Maurine Jones was born July 12, 1933, in San Angelo, TX, to John Allen and Lula Maize (Matthews) Roach and passed away, Monday, September 18, 2023, in Thomas surrounded by her family, at the age of 90 years, 2 months and 6 days.

Amaryllis was raised and attended school in San Angelo, TX and later moved to Brownfield, TX where she graduated in 1950.  She accepted Christ at age 12 and was baptized in the Concho River in San Angelo.   Amaryllis worked along-side of her father on the family farm.  On January 6, 1956, she married Lendon Durwood Jones and made their home in Seminole, TX.  In 1960, they moved to Denver City, TX for 18 years and spent the next 27 years in Muleshoe, TX.  In 2012, Amaryllis moved with her daughter to Lubbock, TX and then moved to Thomas in 2019.  Amaryllis enjoyed painting, sewing, cooking, her church activities and entertaining. She was known as NaNa by her family and friends.  Memorials may be made to the Children's Home in Lubbock, TX.

Amaryllis is survived by her daughter, Johnette Frymire and husband, Tim of Thomas; seven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Jarvis Roach; and son, Kipp Jones.
