Alta Ora Dumas was born September 16, 1922 to Henry and Elsie (Cook) Zacharias in Midland, Arkansas and passed away on Friday, January 18, 2013 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma having reached the age of 90 years, 4 months, and 2 days.

Alta was raised by her aunt and uncle, Mary and A.P. Klaassen and attended school in the Colony area. After school she worked for Dr. Woods in Weatherford. Alta was married to Raymond Dumas on September 19, 1940 and they made their home north of Hydro. She had two sons Albert and Roy. In 1970 she worked at Hydro Hardware for two years. She worked alongside her husband on the family farm north of Hydro. She enjoyed her flowerbeds, ceramics, birds, cooking, and trying new recipes. Memorials may be made to the Hydro 1st responders and Shepherd Home Health.

Alta is survived by two sons, Albert and wife Linda Dumas of Garland, Texas and Roy and wife Jamie Dumas of Watonga, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Elsie Zacharias, husband Raymond Dumas, and her brother Roy.
