Funeral services for Alice June Mitchell, 77 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017, 2:00 P.M. in The Chapel of Lockstone Funeral Home with Dennis King officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Alice was born July 26, 1939, in Mineral Wells, Texas to Gordon Andrew Weathersbee and Ethel Zora (Gresham) Weathersbee and passed away Monday, March 6, 2017 in Weatherford, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years, 7 months, and 10 days. Alice was raised and attended school in Plainview, Texas. She met Harlan Mitchell at a drive-in in Plainview, Texas and they were wed on April 16, 1956 and they made their home in San Jose, California. They moved all over Texas, eventually settling in Amarillo to raise their family. Alice enjoyed cooking, crocheting, needlework, western movies, and sweets. Alice loved Jesus, her family, and her husband very much. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, sister, and wife.

Alice is survived by two sons, Mark Mitchell and wife, Deborah of Weatherford, OK, Jeff Mitchell and significant other, Odis Burris Jr. of Sapulpa, OK; seven grandchildren, Sherry Horn and husband, Jason of Weatherford, OK, Jennifer Lela and husband, Chad of Chicago, IL, Steven Mitchell and wife, Casey of Amarillo, TX, Tanner Mitchell and wife, Cammy of Ada, OK, Janna Shehan and husband, Tommy of Broken Bow, OK, Kyler Mitchell and wife, Tana of Amarillo, TX, Makenna Mitchell of Amarillo, TX; nine great-grandchildren, Weston Horn, Addisyn Mitchell, Emmalee Mitchell, Hunter Lela, Kennedy Lela, Olivah Mitchell, Evelyn Shehan, Cora Shehan, Tru Horn; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Ethel Weathersbee; husband, Harlan Mitchell; two sisters, Winona Adair and Dorothy Sherrill; and one brother, George Weathersbee.

Memorials may be made to Velma Earline Ellis Mitchell Endowed Nursing Scholarship at Texas Tech University Health Science Center.
