Alice Esther (Goehring) Jurrens, 90, went to her heavenly home on Friday, January 2, 2026 in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Alice was born November 8, 1935 to Albert and Christina (Lindeman) Goehring in Delmont, South Dakota. She grew up on the family farm in Delmont and attended the public school there. After high school graduation, she attended the Southern State College in Springfield, South Dakota.
In 1952, Alice married James Jurrens at the Delmont Reformed Church. To this union they had 3 children, Rick, Christy and Tammy. They then moved to Scotland, SD where she worked as a dental assistant. It was there where she became active in Child Evangelism. She also was very involved in helping Jim with the marching band. They lived a year in Greely, Colorado before moving to Minot, North Dakota. In 1970, they moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma. Alice was always involved in assisting Jim in some way with the marching bands. She also taught Child Evangelism classes and Sunday School.
Survivors include her three children, Rick Jurrens and wife, Jeanita, Christy Sauer and husband, Jeff, and Tammy Allen and husband, Gregg; grandchildren, Cortney Bell and husband, Cody, Jason Sauer and wife, Marcia, Blain Perkins and wife, Nikki, Chris Jurrens and wife, Shannon, Sam Jurrens and wife, Betsy, Delanya Milner and husband, Tyson, Kelsie Frazier and husband, Clint, Ashlea Allen and Heather Allen; and ten great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her husband, James Jurrens; her parents; and her brothers, Erwin, Arthur, Edgar, Nobart, and Alton. And many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Bonnie, Dee, and the staff at the Cottages, Carter Homehealth, and Traditions Hospice for their exceptional care of Alice.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, January 5, 2026 at the Chapel of Lockstone Funeral Home, with Earl Stephenson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to First Choice Pregnancy Center in Weatherford at firstchoiceok.com.
